About Me

I have over two years of teaching experience as an English Language Trainer and Assistant Professor, working with both undergraduate and postgraduate students. I began my career at St. Anne’s Arts and Science College, where I taught papers such as Aspects of the English Language and Communicative English. Currently, I am working at Panimalar Engineering College, where I handle courses like Communicative English, Professional Communication, Soft Skills, and Integrated Lab Skills. I have also served as an External Examiner for English language assessments and semester evaluations. In terms of certification, I have qualified the UGC-NET in English, and I have completed a Level–1 Training Meet on Content Writing, Blogging, and Related Technological and Marketing Aspects conducted by Writer’s Coalition. These qualifications have helped me blend academic rigor with creative and digital learning approaches. My teaching methodology focuses on interactive, student-centered learning. I incorporate digital tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and audiovisual materials to make lessons engaging and practical. I use activity-based strategies like fun grammar games, communicative tasks, and roleplays to simplify complex grammar and enhance real-life communication skills. My approach encourages critical thinking, confidence, and language fluency, ensuring that each student not only learns the rules of English but also applies them effectively in both academic and professional contexts.

Hello, I’m Surya L, an English Language Trainer with over two years of teaching experience in higher education. I hold a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Madras and have also qualified for the UGC-NET in English. I began my teaching journey at St. Anne’s Arts and Science College, where I handled courses such as Aspects of the English Language and Communicative English. I’m currently working at Panimalar Engineering College, teaching Communicative English, Professional Communication, and Soft Skills to undergraduate students. In my classes, I combine traditional teaching with digital and activity-based learning, using tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and audiovisual aids to make lessons more interactive.

I’m passionate about helping learners improve their grammar, communication, and confidence in using English. Beyond teaching, I enjoy reading fiction, writing articles, learning new vocabulary, and listening to podcasts, all of which keep me connected to language in creative ways. My goal is to make English learning an engaging and transformative experience for my students.
