About Me

I hold an MA in TESOL (Japan), an MSc in Psychology, and an IB MYP Category 1 Certificate in Language and Literature. My teaching journey spans K–12 students, with a focus on facilitating language development alongside social-emotional growth. At the high school level, I supported students preparing for U.S. university admissions, helping them craft powerful statements of purpose rooted in their lived experiences and aspirations. I draw from both academic rigor and humanistic pedagogy; creating classrooms where students feel seen, respected, and empowered. My methodology blends inquiry-based learning, global citizenship education, and SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) to support learners in becoming thoughtful, expressive, and compassionate communicators.

Hello! I’m Swati, an educator and learner with over nine years of experience in English language teaching across Japan and India. I’m deeply passionate about literature, writing, and the power of language to shape identity, resilience, and human connection. My interests also extend into narrative therapy, which I am currently pursuing at an advanced level, further enriching my belief in the healing and transformative potential of stories. I approach education as a spiritual and ethical practice; one that nurtures the whole person.

In my role as a language educator for K–12 students, I not only facilitated English language learning but also integrated Global Citizenship values to help students critically engage with international issues through language. A key aspect of my work involved preparing students for university admissions in the United States, with a strong emphasis on academic writing, personal narratives, and global awareness. This dual focus on language proficiency and global competence has shaped my approach to teaching as both rigorous and values-driven.
